"Pundits are starting to analyze the meaning of what happened in Lebanon.
First, here's my absolute favorite metaphor of the situation, courtesy of Hot Air:
…The government [was] temporarily brought to its knees to remind it who's boss. Think of it as a visit from mafia goons to some poor bastard who's late in repaying his debt to a loan shark — they broke a couple of fingers this time to let him know they can break his neck if he doesn't play ball.
So, what lessons can the West learn from what happened in Lebanon?
A view from a Lebanese blogger.
Well the same kind that we have been doing since some men don't like evil, since my first taste of some of most people's in and from the middle east leave me to know one thing, that I come from a black family and any and everyone who think that they can get away with doing what they want should know that the true will come to the light, so all you peoples that want to keep pasting your hate on in the future will end one day. And if it do not then there are few good men who can help it end, I don't mean a kiss on the hand but a big stick on that head. That what we learn from about the world.
