For the A-Cup Crowd, Minimal Assets Are a Plus

"IT is commonly assumed that small-chested women feel that nature's lottery has left them coming up short. The parade of heaving bosoms in Victoria's Secret catalogs not only suggests that bigger is better but also that supersizing with a push-up bra is universally desired."

"Wrong, says Ellen Shing, the owner of Lula Lu, a Web site and boutique in San Mateo, Calif., that cater to AAA- to A-cup sizes. She says that while a small number of her customers come in looking for padded bras and tell her, "Make me as big as you can," the majority "don't want to supersize themselves."

At the other extreme are the au-naturels who would just as soon go braless if it wasn’t for this little thing called the office and the awkwardness of erect nipples in cold conference rooms. Exquisitely designed soft bras with no underwire appeal to this camp for gorgeous details and “nipple discretion,” as it’s called in the industry, said Susannah Hornsby, an expert bra-fitter at Journelle, a boutique in New York.

But, on the other hand:

Women's breasts are larger than ever

"Many women may have long suspected it, just as many men have secretly hoped for it. But it's official: women's breasts, and particularly those of younger women, are getting bigger.

I think they're lucky for a variety of reasons:

  1. They can paint their own toenails and lace their own sandals;
  2. They sit up next to their plate at restaurants, not a foot away. Try eating soup in polite company while reaching way out there;
  3. They can sleep on their stomach and their back is straight, not arched;
  4. They can jog without feeling that someone is hitting them in the face with two soccer balls with every step; and
  5. They can find clothes that fit-- they aren't looking for multitudinous support in a bathing suit.

There is nothing quite like getting into the water of a pool and suffocating in your own chest-- because all that support creates a lot of buoyantcy in the water. They have a real tendency to float up around your chin, so you have to hold them down to breathe. I think they are VERY fortunate!

cookin mama, so true! I never thought there be a day I'd wish I was an A-cup, the day is here. I would love to have small breasts, the clothes are much cuter instead of making us who have larger breast look pregnant all the time. If you get your clothes fitted then you look as if you're showing them off. Grrrrr

What the saying? The grass is always greener? It probably is.

not over it

“It’s a misconception still that you want to be bigger if you’re smaller.” She isn’t sure if the small-and-loving-it attitude she has noticed is “about pride or more like being O.K. with who they are.”

I admit that I have always been self-conscious about my B cup, but I'm getting more and more comfortable with it, the older I get. Less sag is a good thing. :)

Unfortunately I found out the hard and frightening way, how saggy and icky they can get. I guess my sister-in-law flashing the entire bar repeatedly had a good outcome after-all.

I knew you were a leg man, that is one reason why I love you.

I have a nice set of breasts 42DD but my legs are great and I like to show them off that is one reason why I wear a lot of dresses, shorts and skirts.

You won't find me in a low cut V neck top any time soon as I don't like the men that are attracted to my large breasts, I like leg men.

My mom, all 4'10" of her, was more than sufficently endowed. (the joke, when we were growing up, was she had enough for her and 2 flat chested women).

About 5 or 6 years ago, she actually went in and had breast reduction surgery, to help alleviate some of the problems she was having, mostly back issues.

She's much happier now, with smaller breasts.

I would love to have even a cup size smaller chest. Not that I'm huge (34-D), but they are big enough to get in the way at times. I went shopping today with a couple of friends - we were all trying on a bunch of really cute clothes. I have the hardest time fitting anything though, between my chest size and being short waisted. One of my friends and I tried on the same shirt - in the same size. I have to leave the top two buttons undone (and the first button is already pretty low) and wear a cami under the shirt to maintain some modesty. She can where it buttoned up without any gappage. Shirts that aren't too long or too big in the waist or too big in the axilla are simply too small to properly fit the chest.

The previous comments have amply covered most of the typical thoughts concerning this subject. However I have perhaps a slightly different perspective. You see I am an older male who has been an on-again-off-again naturist (nudist if you must) since I was in my 20s. The one common complaint on the part of the ladies with the larger breast sizes is that in order to participate in any of the sports events at our facilities they all must don an athletic support bra. This is a nuisance to them and produces the inevitable 'tan lines.'

Likewise the men who are heavily endowed have a real problem and ultimately have to wear a athletic supporter. One fellow had a penis that was nearly 2/3 the length of his thigh. It was so large that he simply was not able to go horseback riding even with a supporter. He never learned to 'post in the saddle' so it was constantly getting smashed against the saddle horn. All things considered there is a lot to be said for being just average as I see it. For those men or women who have been over endowed I only hope that they can come to terms with it in one way or another. Ladies can, at least, have a breast reduction but I haven't heard of a penile reduction for over endowed guys. LOL

I tend to be a bit of an aberation as a male in this arena. My attention is invariably drawn to a nicely shaped posterior with ample thighs supporting it. I am not fond of extremes in any area. As for the breasts I really like the ones that look like small funnels with the eraser of a brand new #2 pencil sticking out the spout. The areola should be the size of a 50 cent piece or smaller. :=))

So much for fantasizing. Realistically if a lady is 'into me' and desires my attention I will most willingly give it as long as I am free to do so. There is way more to a satisfying relationship than just physical appearence. When I am down with the flu and she is spoon feeding me chicken soup and running to the drug store to buy medicines for me that is when I know that I am loved. LOL When she has had a bad day and is crying 'for no reason' and I find myself wanting to hold her and rock her like a little baby that is when I know that we have a relationship. :=))

G. H.

The only time I had noticeably large breasts was when I was breastfeeding. (That REALLY IS what breasts are for, you guys)LOL Now I am 60, still not worrying about catching them in my belt or zipper! I never worried that I needed them to be *desired*, I had more men than I needed! :-)

Well I'm not the world's most masculine man
But I know what I am and I'm glad* I'm a man
And so is Lola

Krishna thanks for the friend request. It will be accepted as soon as I get to my page. Now regarding your #24.2 you might want to talk to G.Bud about that one. He recently sent out an Email admonishing us all to always request a second picture when on-line dating. Seems he found a photo of some bodacious hooters and in the second shot they were on some big hairy guy. Yikes!!!! Now days, you just can't be sure anymore what with folks tinkering with Mother Nature the way we do. LOL Back in the 60s in San Fran. the by word was "always look for an Adam's Apple." HEH HEH HEH HEH.

Loved this article. Thanks for seeding it, Krishna!

I am small busted. I have thought about augmentation. I did my research on it (I am an R.N.) What I read was enough for me to abandon the idea. One plastic surgeon I read about comments to his augmentation patients "consider that these implants are on loan". That is because they are not "forever".

I have learned to celebrate my "smallness". I love interpretive, hip hop dancing, weight trainiing, and being small has its advantages.

Women who have breast cancer are exempt, of course. Thank goodness these women have an option for implants. There are women who develop deformed breasts (tubular breasts) who also benefit enormously from implants.

But as for me, and my small busted sisters...I say, we are beautiful, too!

I've seen quite a few that look fake.

Or out of proportion to the entire body-- in some cases the effect is grotesque.

I agree.

I prefer more substantial stuff for NV seeds-- but occasionally I do superficial stuff because that what gets a lot of attention here on the Vine.

Some of us get tired of all the bickering on a lot of the more 'serious' articles-- it is nice to go some place and 'relax', too!

Besides, I learn just as much, if not more, from discussions like this than in those 'discussions' where people do nothing but argue back and forth...

I think it is a great article! If someone is looking for a more 'serious' subject, there are plenty to select from--

Good job, krishna! :-)

I used to seed only serious stuff-- mainly controversial. I had hoped for intelligent discussion-- but most of the comments kept ending up with people turning away form the topic to attacking other participants in the conversation.

So I started seeding some non-serious stuff, and was copnsidering stopping serious-- and especially controversial-- articles altogether.

But I've finally decided to do a mix of both. And when trolls appear, either ignore them-- or engage in an occasional knock-down-drag-out fight! LOL :-)

(In extreme cases reporting them to NV staff).

I also feel that way at times...

In fact, I actually created an easy way to find some articles like that. Try this:

1- Go to "About krishna-167929" and click "Read More".

2- Then click "And now for something completely different"-- and scroll down.

My original idea was for it to be only fairly unusual seeds of high interest-- but its actually become more a collection of things that are mainly non-controversial-- an escape from the political controversy and in-fighting.

Why not as well most important the fact that Millions of women brain washed { to include young girls } into buying into the Bigger is better Boobs as the only way to be a woman ?

IMO this is a great seed if only to let those women out there know many of us men do not think size matters and some like me have a preference for the smaller bust woman.

PNV

Good point. And after all-- this is from The New York Times-- it is a serious article, not one that panders to sensationalism... and the obsession many people have with getting boob jobs is a bit overdone IMO-- to say the least!

I have always been interested in trends in society-- and especially when there's a major change. It seems that a few years ago all of a sufdden there were a lot more women with big busts-- and many didn't hang naturally, many were not in proportion to the rest of their bodies. It was obvious that getting boob jobs was suddenly much more popular. And the fad extended to fairly young women...strange.

So what caught my eye about this article -- an indication perhaps in changing trends...

So I would agree, PNV-- this article is "serious" not frivolous.

I have occasionally seeded something a bit silly -- merely for sensationalistic impact-- see, for example:

Woman Uses Her 38DD Breasts as Paintbrushes

Forget the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh or the Matisse exhibit at the MoMA in New York: The true art destination this summer is between Kira Ayn Varszegi's giant boobs.

LOL!

And this one is just a really unusual story (Be sure to click on "Read Story"--fascinating stuff):

Court Finds Model Serena Kozakura Innocent Based on Breast Size

A really big story! [Also photos of this unfortunate waif-- and a video showing Serena trying to squeeze through a hole in the door as well as other parts of the story]
